User and schema on MySQL

by  jd »  2011/06/08 13:53

I would install JAHIA 6.5 but I've some questions about MySQL.

I have installed a MySQL 5.5 server and MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE on Windows XP SP3.

Does I create an user dedicated to Jahia and a schema dedicated to Jahia, or only an user dedicated to Jahia? In short what are the prerequisites for MySQL 5.5 before install JAHIA 6.5?

Thanks for help. I'm beginner on JAHIA 6.5, I've work a little on JAHIA 6.0...

Hello Jenny,

Welcome to Jahia 6.5 !

From MySQL's point of view Jahia 6 and 6.5 have exactly the same requirements. So this means that you need a dedicated schema for each version, and a user that can access the schemas.

So if you plan to use just Jahia 6.5, you should have :

a schema called "jahia"

a user called anything you want (jahia by default) that has all privileges on the "jahia" schema.
