problem installing within linux

by  duardito »  2014/01/15 19:04

Hi to all, i want to evaluate this good software, and I want to do a custom install, but I have a problem when I get line to define mysql driver I don't modify it, and I get one error validation:

Validation failed, please verify your input
Database driver (*) [com.mysql.jdbc.Driver]

do I have to set other value?

thanks

    Hello,

what distribution are you using and what version of Jahia are you using? Do you have more information in the install log file? (<install_dir>/logs/install.log)

    Regards,

    Guillaume

I am using latest comunnity edition, I think that I don't get any log file because installation stays at database definition with that error.

I will look in more detail.

You can look in the console you used to launch the installer, see if there is any extra information. You can also use the "console" parameter to run a non-graphical installer: java -jar Jahia_xCM_v6.6.2.0_r47118.jar -console

    It may be more verbose.

You probably already did but just in case:

    - check that your MySQL server is up and running

    - check that you created the database and that the user you use in the installer is granted the right permission to access it, by default: mysql -u jahia -pjahia jahia

I'm using Fedora 20 and I've just ran the community installer without any issue

Please let me know if I can help further.

    Regards,

    Guillaume

Even with the community edition you should still have an logs/install.log file, this is a log of the installer process itself.

Have you checked that you database is accessible properly from the machine on which you are installing Jahia ? Sometimes for MySQL you need to set login rights for 127.0.0.1 and localhost and other host names that you might be using.

Glad you made it work :)

I'm not sure to understand your question, what settings are you looking for? Could you give me an example?

You can see and edit the JDBC settings in this file: tomcat/webapps/jahia/META-INF/context.xml

You'll find the username, password, connection string etc.

Enjoy Jahia and do not hesitate to use this forum if you have any questions.

    Regards,

    Guillaume

You will also have to change any tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost/ROOT.xml if you have one (this is dependant on the Tomcat version).
