Jahia 6.6 with Tomcat 7

by  rafa »  2012/05/10 13:05

Hello, I am a new user of Jahia. I've download the latest version 6.6 and I have installed it correctly on Ubuntu 12.04 with MySQL 5.5. I have followed the instructions there are inside the page How-To-Install.html, all the instructions and when I run tomcat the url localhost:8080 doesn't work. Before installing Jahia I had installed tomcat 7.0.22 and I could see localhost:8080 correctly, but since I made the changes Tomcat does not work.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

The Welcome page of tomcat does'n work, but I can see my login page localhost:8080/jahia66/. But when I introduce my login and password for the root account the personal page doesn't appear, I only see the next error message

Module error.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hello,

Tomcat 7 is not officially supported server for Jahia 6.6, although we had no issues running it on Tomcat 7.

Have you tried installing Jahia with the Tomcat 6.0.35, which is comming with the Jahia installer?

If you had any exceptions duringthe first Jahia startup, it could mean that the initialization does not went well and our installation is no longer consistent.

Could you, please, provide any details on what you are trying to achive (deploying Jahia into existing Tomcat? changing Web application context from ROOT to something else?) so that we can help you further?

Kind regards

Sergiy

    Hello,

I have followed your advice and I have installed Jahia 6.6 with its own tomcat version and MySQL 5.5 and now it works fine.

    Thank you.
