Re: Installing Jahia 6.5 Beta on existing Tomcat (Linux)

by  shyrkov »  2011/06/07 20:59

Hello Wael,

I can confirm that there is an issue with the pack selection panel in the installer when using console-based mode.
It seems the underlying IzPack library does not handle for console based installations.

We will track this issue in a ticket QA-2369 and I will keep you posted about the progress if we can overcome this limitation.

Kind regards
Sergiy

    Sergiy, Wael,

In the console installations for Jahia (tested with r7669) there is no option to de-select the Tomcat Server and I think this is missing from the console. With thr GUI version this works fine.

    Wael,
if you desktop is a Linux or OSX box then it's easy to use X-Forward over ssh to do the graphical installation instead of doing the console version. This is how I have been doing the Beta installations on our servers.
If you are on a windows desktop box there there are X-Servers vailable for Windows so you can do also this type of installation, only since I don't know windows I cannot give you step-by-step instructions for this.

    Hello,

the link was to reference the corresponding SVN commit with changes.

If you would like to get the installer, you could use the nightly build one: http://beta65.jahia.org/cms/Download/Nightly

    Kind regards
    Sergiy
