Weird cache behavior for a rich text edit

by  rvt »  2011/10/28 02:30

Gents,

I have a weird cache behaviour for a rich text edit.

I have 2 users (let's call them A and B) both users are member of group G1, and only user B is member of group G2.

I set my rich text editor to be visible to G2 only.

Situation 1:

After I publish and clear the cache I access the site as user B and I see my rich text.

I logout, and enter the site as user A, and I don't see the rich text. With I subsequently login as user A or user B I correctly see or not see the rich text edit for the respected user.

Situation 2:

After I publish and clear the cache I access the site as user A and I don't see my rich text (as expected).

I logout and login as user B, and I don't see my rich text. however, I expected to see my rich text!

In situation 2 I find this in my errorlog:

[#|2011-10-27T21:23:21.258-0500|INFO|oracle-glassfish3.0.1|javax.enterprise.system.std.com.sun.enterprise.v3.services.impl|_ThreadID=27;_ThreadName=Threa

        at org.apache.jackrabbit.core.SessionImpl.getItem(SessionImpl.java:751)

I tried to disable caching for my rich texted edit, expiration to -1 or 0, and set cache per user, but that all doesn't help.

It looks like if the module was set to hidden, Jahia's cache management looses track of it (it seems to expect it though).

Any known hack I can use to solve this issue?

CHeers,

Ries

    Gents,

it turned out I had to add both G1 and G2 groups to my page, after that it worked fine.

I documented the item here in Jira

Thanks Ries for the bug report, I notified QA.

In the meantime maybe you could add screenshots to the ticket to illustrate this problem that might help.

    Best regards,

      Serge Huber.
