Using Spring 3.0 in Jahia 6.5, sources for nightly builds

by  ludovicc »  2011/06/07 17:54

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible or even planned to use Spring 3.0 instead of Spring 2.5 in Jahia 6.5?
Spring 3.0 offers better security and productivity features, and I have developed an application for our users to register and manage their data using Spring Roo, now I'm looking for a nice CRM / WCM framework where I could integrate this web app inside a bigger web site that provides news and lots of other features.
Jahia 6.5 looks like a very good choice for us, but I wonder how I could integrate my web app with Jahia.
I could use modules, but since Jahia uses Spring 2.5 and I'm using Spring 3.0, it looks like there will be incompatibilities here.
I have downloaded the sources from the svn depot at http://subversion.jahia.org/svn/jahia/b ... A-6-5-BETA, but those sources have not been updated since the release of Jahia 6.5 beta. I wonder where are the sources for the nightly builds.

Thanks,
Ludovic Claude

Hello,
Could try the trunk, i.e. http://subversion.jahia.org/svn/jahia/trunk for the cutting edge version...

Hello,

yes the trunk URL, given by Denis (thanks!), is the right one to get the current snapshot of Jahia 6.5 development.

Actually, the Spring 3.0.x upgrade was not on our roadmap for Jahia 6.5 release.
And as we have entered QA and stabilization phase, I doubt we will opt in for a "major" version upgrade.

Although, I was checking "Upgrading to 3.0.x How To" some time ago and I have not identified any major impact or side-effects. So, the migration should go "smoothly".

If you have any concerns to share with us, we will really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards
Sergiy
