Possible permission issue with 4300 life users?

by  rvt »  2012/03/07 00:50

Hello,

I am guessing here a bit but....

since a couple of days we are facing a issue with a installation with around 4300 life user accounts where a user with a Edit-in-Chief cannot use the rich text editor to insert a image from the repository.

When this user uses a file module (this one doesn't pop up) this all works fine.

In the errorlog we find :

[#|2012-03-06T18:37:12.107-0600|INFO|oracle-glassfish3.0.1|javax.enterprise.system.std.com.sun.enterprise.v3.services.impl|_ThreadID=140;_ThreadName=Thread-1;|2012-03-06 18:37:12,106: WARN  [ErrorLoggingFilter] - [Error code:
403]: Access denied for resource: /jahia/engines/contentpicker.jsp

It's reproducable when we export the site, and import this. It both happens on Jahia 6.5 and 6.6

I verified this users acocount, and he has editor in chief rights, the directories are also set that should allow for access.

Any id or guess where I should start looking?

    Hello Ries,

Does the error really concern only this JSP ? In this case it seems like some kind of server issue ?

I'm surprised the number of users would have an influence on this. Eventually large number of users could affect loading times but permissions per say seems strange.

If you import your file on a standard install (Tomcat) do you have the same issue ?

    Best regards,

      Serge Huber.

    Serge,

    thanks for responding.

Currently I identified it's only this JSP, the HTML based functions to select files/images do work fine and the user does have permissions to select. The funny thing is that indeed it does work fine with the inline versions like the file module.

I have exported the site from Jahia 6.5 and import it into a site in jahia 6.6 (for migration) and there I see the same.

The only reason I though about the number of life users because this is for us growing over time. Today I scheduled for myself to look deeper into it.

According to the user 'nothing has changed', and this should not be because they don't have root account. Interesting...

When I know more... for sure I will give a update!

    Serge,

I didn't find the real cauze,

but the work around was to remove and re-added the user to the editors-in-chief group.

After that we the pop didn't give the 403 anymore.

Ok possibly there was some modification in the permissions that might have been incomplete or something like that ?

Glad to know you managed to get around it.

    Best regards,

      Serge Huber.
