Night Build useability

by  sly »  2011/09/09 21:33

Hello,

Is there a way to know wich night build is stable enought to be used.

And yes we do need to use night build since they correct some blocking bugs...

Actually the nightly build is a build of the current trunk of Jahia, which is unstable. As we get closer to release of service packs or major releases, we enter bug fixing sprints that usually mean that the build becomes more stable. At the beginning of a new cycle of development (as it is the case now as we are working both on a service pack for 6.5 and the next release), the build is less stable.

Best regards,

  Serge Huber.

Sly,

I have been using a lot of the nightlies and I found them pretty stable. I am not saying that you should use them for production.

but I also had some blocking items and currently develop on a nightly and have this also up as a demo for my client. I didn't see strange things or data loss, just some small oddities.
