"Batch create users" and UTF-8 encoding problem

by  kamran »  2011/09/07 13:45

Dear all,

When I try to use the "Batch create users" functionnality of the administration of Jahia 6.5, special caracters are not imported correctly from my CVS to Jahia.

My CVS file is encoding with UTF-8 without BOm and here is its content :

j:nodename,j:password,j:firstName,j:lastName
test,password,ÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÐÑÒÓÔÕÖØÙÚÛÜÝß,àáâãäåæçèéêëìíîïðñòóôõöøùúûüýÿ
test2,password,ĀāĂ㥹ĆćĈĉĊċČčĎď,ĐđĒēĔĕĖėĘęĚěĜĝĞğ

But the result of the import is something like :

  • test
    j:firstName="ÀÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉÊËÌÎÑÒÓÔÕÖØÙÚÛÜß"
    j:lastName="àáâãäåæçèéêëìíîïðñòóôõöøùúûüýÿ"
  • test2
    j:firstName="ĀĂ㥹ĆćĈĉĊċČĎ"
    j:lastName="đĒēĔĕĖėĘęĚěĜĞğ"

As you can see it is not the same :-(

If I use a CSV file encoded with UTF-8 (with BOM) the I have the following error :

2011-09-06 12:32:22,302: ERROR [ManageUsers] - Couldn't find user name or password column in CSV file, aborting batch creation !
I tried this either in a MAC and a PC with following build numbers :
PC = 6.5.0.1 r38670.623
MAC = 6.5.0.1 t38409.617
Does some one has the same problem ? Any idea to solve this ?

My website will be on more than 23 languages and will use special caracaters. So I need to use UTF-8.

Thanks

Kamran
