Access Control List (ACL)

by  jayteema »  2011/06/07 19:57

Hi ,

I am attempting to apply the ACL to containers within a parent page and testing shows this is working.

My only problem is that I can not seem to set the ACL correctly so that the user can upload a new image.

I have full access as root, but when I apply read amp write to the container, I can not get the user to access all the functionality available within file manager for the container?

Any ideas?

Thanks
-Jim

    Hello Jim,

are you trying to upload an image using DocumentManager? What folder are you trying to upload into?
Are there any user messages, exception? Please, provide us a bit more details (including the version of Jahia, you are using).

    Kind regards
    Sergiy

Thanks for the quick reply. We have set up new users with the appropriate access levels.

As I have been training the users, it was uncovered that we can not activate the icon to upload images via the containers that the user has access. Logging in as root provides the desired functionality, but not with any of the users we have set up.

We are on Jahia 5.05. using templates created by our SI, Quoin.

Please let me know if you need any clarification

    Thanks
    -Jim

I think we have discovered the issue.

This functionality will not work in the default directory of root gt; public. If we look to have the user upload within the personal directory created as part of their account creation, they do have access to upload files.

I guess my next questions relates to how to best manage the 60 gig of content we scraped from the existing site into the new Jahia CMS.

    Are there any
