I got to the part where I have four projects from SVN. However when trying to build the maven-jahiawar-plugin with maven by runnign the following command 'maven plugin:install' I get the following error (Notice Im in the directory where the project.xml document exist):

    Hello,

I assume you are talking about Jahia 5.x . The documentation you are pointing to is more for Jahia core developers. For simple template development it can be done much easier:

    [b:3htyuvfd]Setup template project in Eclipse:[/b:3htyuvfd]

Create a new quot;Dynamic Web Project

Hey thanks for your quick reply.

However I do want to set up Jahia for core development as we are deploying a J2EE project on it and might need to change some certain aspects about it. Hence back to the same question above 'What does 'Parent POM not found' mean?' Please refer to the post above for more information. Your help is appreciated as the whole team here is stuck on setting up Jahia on eclipse!

    Cheers

    Hello,

in your referred document it is shown from page 4-6 which projects you need to check out (you just need to exchange .net with .org as the .net domain name is no longer existing).

    https://svndev.jahia.org/svn/common-jahiaprojects/
    https://svndev.jahia.org/svn/common-packagedwebapps/
    https://svndev.jahia.org/svn/maven-jahiawar-plugin/

From all these projects you need to check-out the trunk but the checked out root folders must all be siblings under the same parent folder, e.g.:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Saqqa.LOCAL\workspace\common-jahiaprojects
    C:\Documents and Settings\Saqqa.LOCAL\workspace\common-packagedwebapps
    C:\Documents and Settings\Saqqa.LOCAL\workspace\maven-jahiawar-plugin

So you should not check out in a subfolder named:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Saqqa.LOCAL\workspace\maven-jahiawar-plugin\trunk

When you check-out the wanted jahia branch from https://svndev.jahia.org/svn/jahia/ it should then also come into the same folder level locally:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Saqqa.LOCAL\workspace\jahia

    Regards,
    Benjamin

    Hi Benjamin

Again thanks for your support here..

Accessing the code at the repository 'https://svndev.jahia.org/svn/jahia/' fails. Can you please double check that one and see if the server is in a good shape?

    Cheers

    Hi

OK I see..Well does jahia 6 get set up in the same way? If so, can I use the same checked out projects in the v6 set up? and what is the URL of the Jahia 6 repository?

    Cheers

    Hello,

no, with Jahia 6 we started using Maven 2 and we completely changed the project structure in order to make better use of the available Maven plugins.

There is an article on Jahiapedia, which explains how to set up a Jahia 6 development environment in Eclipse: http://www.jahia.org/cms/lang/en/home/J ... _and_tools
