Problems with Jahia 6.6 and Bootstrap

by  msheets »  2015/01/19 20:31

Hi,

I am new to Jahia and have been tasked to integrate a website within Jahia 6.6. The problem is that the website was created using a lot of different CSS files, javascript, PHP and the Bootstrap framework.

What is the best way to go about integrating all the necessary files required to make this website fully functional? I tried to start integrating just the CSS within the template I am creating and it made everything, including Jahia itself, very distorted on the screen. Is there a way to create the same type of file structure within Jahia that is being used to render the website now?

Let me know if you need any other information to appropriately answer this question. Thank you for your time!

So one thing to keep in mind is that your website is it's own module on Jahia. And like a webapp you'll want to keep CSS, JavaScript, images, etc. in their own directories. It should look something like this (from Jahia's Template Dev Guide)

    .

    |-- pom.xml
    `-- src
    |-- main
    | |-- assembly
    | | `-- src.xml
    | |-- import
    | | `-- repository.xml
    | |-- java
    | |-- resources
    | | `-- META-INF
    | | `-- templates-mytTpl.tld.disabled
    | `-- webapp
    | |-- META-INF
    | | |-- definitions.cnd
    | | `-- spring
    | | `-- templates-mytTpl.xml.disabled
    | |-- css

    |

    | |-- icons
    | |-- img
    | |-- javascript
    | |-- resources
    | | `-- __resourceBundleName__.properties
    | |-- rules.drl.disabled
    | `-- scripts
    `-- site
    |-- apt
    | `-- index.apt
    `-- site.xml

I would recommend installing the demo site and seeing what that looks like first, hope this helps!
