Paste as reference not working as expected after moving page

by  surajz »  2011/06/07 20:42

I have 2 pages using the same template. I have defined a containerList to hold list of links.
In page1, I create links that point to internal pages. When I copy the content object from page1 and paste it as a reference (or copy content) to page2, I get the correct link names but the links are missing.

When I view the html source, I see following differences.
The copied content object consisting of links are treated as external links and href attribute value is missing in the copied link.

page1
----
<span class="link"><a href="/cms/op/edit/journeys/irene_1">Meet Irene</a></span>

page2
-----
<span class="externallink"><a target="_blank" href="http://">Meet Irene</a></span>

Thanks,

To make it work, I had to use 2 step workflow.
The reference copy does not work when you use no workflow.

"Paste as Reference" does not work when you copy 'content object' containing links from parent page to child page. Simple content object that contains only string or richtext works, but the content object consisting of links/page does not work.

For example, If you have page0 -> page1 -> page2
You cannot copy page1 content object to page2. You need to move the page2 at the same level as page1.
