Integrating Jahia cms with existing project!

by  ranjitis »  2011/06/07 20:43

Dears,

I have an existing java-project which I want to use Jahia CMS. How can I integrate my jsp-templates or modules into Jahia?
I am very new to Jahia, any hints or tips would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

    Hi ranjitis,

In fact it depends of your existing projects ... But here is the general idea :

    - First of all, create a Jahia Template Structure. If you are familiar with Maven, you could generate it with this catalog http://maven.jahia.org/maven2. If your are not familiar with maven, you could copy the structure of the web_templates (/jahia6/webapps/ROOT/templates/web_templates) and modify templates.xml and definitions.cnd to define your own template.

    - When you have your set of templates, you will be able to include your JSP, and if you use some Java classes, you will be able to put it in the java folder (only if you have generated the structure with Maven)

    - When your set of templates is ready, deploy it with Maven, mvn install jahia:deploy, if you have used Maven to generate the structure. Else, just copy - paste your template folder in the templates folder of Jahia.

    - Restart Jahia, and you will be able to create a web site with your custom JSP and Java classes

I hope it will help you. Feel free to ask me if you want more details, and don't forget to read the JahiaPedia to learn basics of Jahia and to have step by step configuration.

    Good luck laugh !

    Charles
