Hi Team,

At some specific time, i see a maintenance circle is running on my jahia console due to this nothing can be published untill the maintenance gets over. How can i change this scheduled time or if is there any way i can disable this maintenance. Any quick help i'll appreciate.

    Ok, let me explain.

    When i login every morning on my Jahia CMS below is the location it shows maintenance.

    Login->  Server administration - >Go to Studio -> Edit Mode ->  Background Jobs

    In place of Background jobs it shows "maintenance" for 2-3 hours daily which blocks me to publish any content until maintenance is over.

    So i want a turn around for this issue. Please suggest what are the possbile solutions to this.

    Thanks,

    Prasant Rana

    Hello,

    I guess, you are talking about the DataStoreGarbageCollectorJob, right?

    If so, you can disable it by creating a file, named for example applicationcontext-scheduler-jobs-custom.xml in the folder <jahia-web-app-dir>/WEB-INF/etc/spring

    The file should have the following content:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xmlns:util="http://www.springframework.org/schema/util"
        xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd
                            http://www.springframework.org/schema/util http://www.springframework.org/schema/util/spring-util-3.0.xsd">

        <bean id="DataStoreGarbageCollectorJob" parent="jobSchedulingBean" lazy-init="true">
            <property name="jobDetail">
                <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.JobDetailBean">
                    <property name="name" value="DataStoreGarbageCollectorJob" />
                    <property name="jobClass" value="org.jahia.services.scheduler.DataStoreGarbageCollectorJob" />
                    <property name="group" value="Maintenance" />
                    <property name="description" value="Runs JCR DataStore Garbag Collector that deletes no longer used entries" />
                </bean>
            </property>
        </bean>
    </beans>

    After that restart your Jahia.

    This will unschedule the DataStoreGarbageCollectorJob job and it won't run anymore.

    Kind regards

    Sergiy

    Thanks for the response Syrkov,

    Will it make any impact on the performance of Jahia if I disable the maintenace the way you mentioned below.

    Or is there any way i can reschedule it for sometime later in the day.

    Thanks,

    Prasant Rana

    Hello,

    no, there is no infuence on the performance of Jahia when the job is disabled. It is aimed to clean up the orphaned files in the repository datastore, i.e. binaries for nodes, which were permanently deleted from the repository.

    You can trigger the datastore garbage collector on demand from Jahia Tools Area -> JCR DataStore garbage collection (http://[server]:[port]/tools/jcrGc.jsp).

    Kind regards

    Sergiy
