Generating PDF

by  mabouchacra »  2011/06/07 20:41

Hello there!

I was wondering if Jahia offers the possibility to generate a pdf file from a page.

For example, I have a page with a list of person and I want to put a link on the page "download the list". Clicking on the link will generate a pdf file which will contains the list of person. Of course I want the complete list to be on the pdf (not only what we see if there is a pagination system).

I checked the Jahia API and found a class called PdfExtractor but it doesn't seems to be linked to my need.

Thanks.
Marc.

    Hello Marc,

we do not provide out-of-the-box PDF conversion, because the rendering of the content is really template-specific.

In your case, I would take a look at the Display tag library we include with Jahia. It has export supportfor several formats, including PDF.

P.S. Jahia also packaged Apache PDFBox and iText libraries, which can be used by you to do the conversion.
