Display user data

by  rafa »  2012/05/30 13:33

Hello, I want to show the data of the current user. I'm using Jahia 6.6 and I've read the documentation but the module Current User is not present in 6.6.

Is there a module with diferent name that has the same functionality in 6.6 version?

Thank you.

Hello, this component is part of the default modules and provided with Jahia in all cases (in modules/default/jnt_currentUserDsplay/).

The fact is that this component appears only as a droppable item in the Studio and is not available in Edit Mode, because 99.5% of the time adding a component like this one which will display the current visitor data is done in a template, and not inserted by editors on a single page of a site.

If, nevertheless, you want to use that component also from the Edit Mode and give acces to it to the editors, you can just change it's definition and remove the jmix:studioOnly attribute in the definition

This component is defined in the file 02-jahia-nodetype.cnd file As it is a built-in file in the core of Jahia if you change it, you may loose your changes in case of upgrade so I strongly suggest you to create a new module that will simply mimic the default one

MyUserModule

1 definition file with your new definition inspired from the jahia cnd file, for instance

[jnt:MYcurrentUserDisplay] > jnt:content, jmix:renderableUser, jmix:layoutComponentContent, jmix:mockupStyle

1 rendering file (inspired from the one in /modules/default/jnt_currentUserDisplay

Of course, if you just want to use that component to put it once for all in a template, you don't have to do anything apart going into the Studio and drag and drop it where you wantt to display it.
