Adding a module icon

by  dontworry »  2013/08/16 10:47

Hi

How can I add an icon to a self written module? As for now it displays "nt_base.png" when I look for the module in edit mode.

thx

    Hello,

Your icon should be placed in <your_module>/src/main/resources/icons/<your_module>.png

The icon naming convention is the following: use the name of the definition replacing ":" by "_". Use png format

    example: jnt:news needs jnt_news.png icon

    Hi faissah

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately still can't see the icon. I made a deployment and have also restarted tomcat without success.
If I look into ../webapps/ROOT/modules/<my_module>/icons I see the icon. Is it at the wrong place or do I have to do something more?

    thx

All, I can imagine is that the name of the icon is incorrect (upper case/lower case??), and I believe it must be a PNG type image.

I ahve done the same on several occasions and it worked out always fine, and if it didn't it was my bad.

    Hi Ries

It still doesn't work, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for your help anyway!

Maybe I'll find it out when I'm going to work more with Jahia.

I've only seen it for a few days now and there are other issues which are more import.

    Hi,

Have you solved your issue? What is the path of your PNG file?

    Adding a module icon

    by  dontworry »  2013/09/12 05:48

    Hi faissah

No I don't. The path to the icon visible in Firebug is "/modules/assets/icons/nt_base.png".

I've added the simple dog module as seen in one of your videos.

If I look into my webapps directory I have these two entries:

    /opt/jahia/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/modules/dog/icons/jnt_dog.png
    /opt/jahia/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/modules/dog/icons/jnt_dog_large.png

    thanks...

I am sorry, i referred to the wrong documentation. I just tried and this should work:

    <your_module>/src/main/webapp/icons/<your_module>.png

You can see how it is done in our jahia module on the Jahia Git repository.

    For example: https://github.com/Jahia/rating/tree/1_x/src/main/webapp/icons
