Activating email notifications

by  abhinitb »  2012/09/21 10:21

Hi,

I am completely new to Jahia. I was looking for an email SMTP server setup and then sending of the emails on workflow events. Do we have to activate the email notifications or is automatic for the out of the box workflows available in Jahia.

If anybody could please share the email setup and notifications activation related knowledge. Thanks in advance.

BR,

Abhinit

    Hi,

You just need to check the "Service activated" checkbox. The email noficitation for workflow is automatic.

"Event Notification Level" is more of a sys admin feature, it is meant to monitor your jahia instance.

If you want to quickly test it, you can use a gmail account as an SMTP server. The syntax for the smtp server field is the following:

    smtps://smtp.gmail.com?username=<yourgmailaddress@gmail.com>&password=<yourgmailpassword>

    Regards,

    Fabrice

    Hi Fabrice,

Thanks a lot..  It worked !!!

But there is still an issue. It is working absolutely fine for the 1-step WF but I am not receiving any email notifications for the 2-step WF. Are the settings default activated for both type of workflows or only for 1-step. If not, how can we do so for the 2-step WF.

Also, I am not able to find the Workflow Manager in my toolbar. I am using Enterprise 30-day trial version. Is the Workflow Manager not a part of 6.6 version ?

    BR,

    Abhinit
