User role to edit & publish the content

by  deepti »  2012/04/14 04:11

Hi,

I need multiple users in jahia who should not have access to studio but should be able to change the content & publish the same. I tried creating a user & map that with "site-administrator" role, but whevever I try to login using this user id, it throws a 403 Forbidden exception "Access to this page is restricted. Possible causes: page only exists in staging or access is forbidden."

As I understand, I need to hit some different URL for the editor to login. Please help.

Regards,

Deepti

You can use the start page in any cases

localhost:8080/cms/start
Your user will then access to a peronnalized page with links to all the sites he can edit in the different modes (live, edit, contribute)

To reach directly a page in edit mode, you must put the mode and workspace in the URL. If a page has never been published it exists only in the default workspace and not in the live workspace, so if you call it in directly in live, you'll get an error.

Urls are formed this way (before any url rewritting to shorten them on a production platform)

(domain:port) / (servlet) / (mode) / (workspace) / (lang) / (path from the repository root)

This page in live mode http://localhost:8080/cms/render/live/en/sites/ACME/home.html (also reachable with http://localhost:8080/cms/en/sites/ACME/home.html) can be called by your editor with the url http://localhost:8080/cms/edit/default/en/sites/ACME/home.html

Hope it helps.
