Problems with event page

by  malta »  2011/06/07 18:37

I use jahia for a website in german language replacing OpenCms.

I found problems with the events page (orig. web-templates, not modified):
- the events calendar and template phrases appear in english language only.
- ascending sorting of events updating the event list box doesn't work for no cursor field.

Regards,
Andreas

    I found this in catalina.out:

2010-01-05 20:18:00,068: WARN [org.jahia.resourcebundle.JahiaResourceBundle] - Resource [toolbar.itemgroups.page] not found in class java.util.PropertyResourceBundle using locale [de]
2010-01-05 20:18:00,112: WARN [org.jahia.resourcebundle.JahiaResourceBundle] - Resource [toolbar.itemgroups.monitoring] not found in class java.util.PropertyResourceBundle using locale [de]
2010-01-05 20:18:00,113: WARN [org.jahia.resourcebundle.JahiaResourceBundle] - Resource [toolbar.itemgroups.monitoring] not found in engine resource bundles using locale [de]

Will it become available for german language?

    Regards,
    Andreas

    Hello,

To display events in all language, can you try to flush the cache of the event page ?

    What is /1 ?

For the german resources, we should add these resources in a future patch/fix.

    Best regards,

    David Griffon

    Hello,

my website has only German language. What I tried to say was that the elements of the interface (p.e. the calendar) on event page are only displayed in English. Well, now I know that German resources are missing.

But the main problem is that on event page ascending sorting of the events doesn't work for none cursor field: sorting by location, event date, ... displayed sorting is is only descending order even if configured ascending order. I would like to have displayed events coming next in time first, but this doesn't work.

On news page sorting by news date works well in both orders, ascending and descending.

    Regards,
    Andreas

I have created the Jira accordingly for the missing resources of the events/calendar template:

    Hello Andreas,

as stated in the previous post, the German translation of resources in events page will be validated and corrected in the next patch/hotfix.

As to sorting. I have checked it once again on the Jahia Community Edition 6.0.0 r25203 (I guess, you are using this version) and the sorting works correctly.

Perhaps we can troubleshoot it together to find a solution.

I've create a new site in German only, based on the Web Templates, we deliver with Jahia and created a sample Events page.
    The default sorting orders are:
    [list:350kqns0]
[*:350kqns0]for date: descending (later events are displayed first)[/*:350kqns0]
[*:350kqns0]for location: ascending (alphabetically by location name)[/*:350kqns0]
    [/list:u:350kqns0]

So, the default location sorting is working in my example. See screenshot below:
    [url=http/1png[/img:350kqns0][/url:350kqns0]

So, could you, please, try to repeat the procedure and let me know, which step is not working on your side?
    For troubleshooting, please, note:
    1) Flushing Jahia caches in Jahia Administration can help if you modified your template
    2) Re-indexing the virtual site (Jahia Administration) can sometimes solve problems with corrupted index, if you feel the sorting is not working quite properly.

    Kind regards
    Sergiy
