by  getwein »  2011/10/25 09:35

Hello,

We want to implement the module Subscription for Jahia 6.5 and I have a question about a particular component of this module: the email import (in the Subscription Manager)

This component allow to import a set of emails for a specific newsletter channel.

Where can I find description of the expected data strcuture of the imported file ?

Regards

    Hello Geoffrey,

The Subscription Manager import accepts CSV files (with ',' or ';' as a value separators).
First line is a "header" with fields.

In case of registered users (users, which are present in Jahia) it is just one field - j:nodename - which corresponds to the username in Jahia.

    For example:

    j:nodename
    test1
    test2
    test3

For non-registered users, you should at least provide the j:email value.
j:firstName and j:lastName for first and last name are optional, but are displayed in the Subscription Manager if you provide them.
And as far as I remember, you can specify arbitrary properties, which will be stored on the subscription node, i.e.:

    j:email,j:firstName,j:lastName
    milla@acme.com,Milla,Miller
    emily@acme.com,Emily,Emilson
    judy@acme.com,Judy,Judson

I will extend the newsletter module documentation for the upcoming release (QA-3219)

    Kind regards
    Sergiy
