JCR corrupt - all files gone in document manager

by  sakuraba »  2011/06/07 18:49

Hi,

I was trying to create a new development instance on my local machine of our production website like I have done countless times before. I installed Jahia CE, went through the configuration screen, gave it the credentials for my local mysql database, let it create its tables, etc, basically setting up a clean new version of the Jahia server.

I then deployed my templates using /1
INSERT INTO `JR_DEFAULT_BUNDLE` (`NODE_ID`,`BUNDLE_DATA`)
VALUES
(NULL[/color:1cys9cny],X'.....binary data.....),
(NULL[/color:1cys9cny],X'.....binary data.....),

How can Jackrabbit store such values? What doe they mean? Is my content repository corrupt?

I ignored the errors for the moment and proceeded with restarting the Jahia server. The site's structure and content are there, but all images and pdf documents are missing from the site. The document manager is empty. The mysqldump is about 400 MB, so they are actually still there, but the JCR is corrupt in some way.

I cannot create a new instance of our website and I am pretty desparate at this point. Is our production database corrupt? I am helpless and I have no clue what to do!

How can I repair our data and build a new development instance of our jahia site?

Everything is not only stored in the database, Jackrabbit also stores some files such as the Lucene indexes in the WEB-INF/var/content directory, so you will need a copy of that.

Another alternative to import content from production is to use the import/export functionality.

The mentioned directory only contains empty directories in our case. I think that all files are in the database, because the /1 approach has worked for previous times without issues.

Where can I find documentation on the import/export functionality? Can I extract a virtual site and put it on a different jahia server?

I tested the export functionality. My problem is, the document manager is still empty! All exported containers have html like src=/1 I can see the pictures, because my sql tool can interpret the binary data and shows me the images (sequelpro).

In our production system, the documents manager is fine though. I just cannot understand what inconsistency there is within the production database dump.

Hello,

Just a quick note and disclaimer : if you have a support contract, I recommended that you go through our support, as this is just a forum for discussions about the product, and time spent here is not guaranteed.

Could your problem be an encoding issue with the database dump, and that when you import the data another encoding is being used ? This is often tricky to get right.

Best regards,
Serge Huber.

Unfortunately no. I am just the poor guy that inherited this project. The in my mind insane decision to purely rely on the CE is beyond me and was done by people no longer involved with the project.

I will try to check that, but I dont understand why all the german umlauts in the text would be fine then and just the files would be missing. It seems like jahia/jcr cannot find the /1 node.
