Jahia with Two IPs

by  cleitonborges »  2011/06/07 18:47

Hello Everyone,

So i have a problem when jboss boot with Jahia and a VPN of my client.

I need access a database of my client and when jboss boot i get error with the license of Jahia, in my computer i have two ips:

192.168.16.16 and 10.8.5.180 so my Jahia license is only for IP 192.168.16.16, but i get error with the ip 10.8.5.180.

Can I choose the IP will be licensed?

thanks

    Hello,

by default JBoss binds to all available IPs on the server.
If you would like JBoss to bind only to 192.168.16.16, start it with -b switch, i.e. for Linux:
    [code:326hwxwm]/116[/code:326hwxwm]

If you would like a license to be issued for another IP, please, let us know.

    Kind regards
    Sergiy

    Hello Sergiy,

I did this before but i get the same error:

    08:00:00,966 INFO [STDOUT] 2010-11-18 08:00:00,963: FATAL [org.jahia.bin.Jahia]
    - License error: User message=Current IP address 10.8.2.187 for Jahia Server is
not authorized by license. (License IP = 192.168.16.16), System message=Current
IP address 10.8.2.187 for Jahia Server is not authorized by license. (License I
    P = 192.168.16.16)

I dont know what i do, other license would solve this case ? but the ip of my client is dynamic.

    Thanks

    Cleiton

    Hi,

Please ask Jahia to issue a key allowing different IPs or a range of IPs, and of course explain them why! Write to your contact or info@jahia.com if you have none.

I solved a similar problem on a windows 2008 server today

The server has two ip-adresses on the same NIC ( example  11.11.11.52  and 11.11.11.225 and name bismark)

Configured the NIC to have the two ipadresses in order 11.11.11.225, 11.11.11.52

The license file is bound to the "higher IP" 11.11.11.225

    If I "ping bismark"  I get 11.11.11.52

If I start jahia I get an error "no license for 11.11.11.52

It seems like there is no way to configure the server to respond with 11.11.11.225 when Jahia starts. (Read somewhere that it returns the IP-address which is closest to the gateway according to some standard)

    Trick:

added a line to the hosts-file

    11.11.11.225      bismark

    Now it works

    ping bismark  gives   10.10.10.225

Jahia starts and accepts the license file.

I suppose there is some code like  getHostByName(hostname)  which is effected by my hosts file fix
