How to replace topmenu with sidemenu on template home?

by  malta »  2011/06/07 18:37

Hi,

I try to build website for a non profit organisation with Jahia v6 CE r25203.
The corporate design doesn't allow a top menu but only a vertical menu on the left.

I can't get it work and appreciate any help.

What I did:
I commented in the line
/1. Neither.

What else do I have to do??

Tnx, regards
Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

there were several changes and improvements to the navigation menu later.

I have tried the following steps to get the left side menu:

    1) Same as you, I have commented out the top menu:

    I commented in the line

    Can it work for you?

    Kind regards
    Sergiy

    Hello Sergiy,

for the first page your solution is ok. But on the subpages I would like to have a vertical menu with 2 or 3 levels, too.
Now on the subpages top level is missing - as we commented out the lav line in /layout/layout.jsp

The nav type /1 shows only level 2 and deeper. The nav type topTabs shows only the top level.

I would like to have vertical menu with top level and one or two deeper levels. Is there a way to do that?

    Best ragards
    Andreas
