How to override the main web.css (01web.css?)

by  robichon »  2011/06/07 18:46

Hi,

I am evaluating Jahia EE v 6.1.0 and trying to create a custom template following the various docs. I would now like to change some elements of the styles, but still benefit from the inherited stylesheets edit.css etc. My template extends Web Templates Extension.

Without a default folder in my themes folder, when I select 'default' as my theme I seem to inherit the default css files in the default theme folders of web-templates-extension, and of web-templates (and others in a gwt folder too) (ie these are visible via FireBug).

I would now like to add a css file in my custom template /1 css folder which will allow me to make some minor changes, but still be able to inherit the other stylesheets. It is not clear to me how to do this and why when I add my own default folder I lose those defined in the web-templates-extension, web-templates default folders. It is also not clear to me if the main css file is web.css or 01web.css and why my own web.css is overridden by a 01web.css from web-templates.

Thanks in advance for your enlightement.

Marie

Hi,

how did you create your template set ? did you copy the web-templates-extension one ? If you did, maybe you forgot to modify the file templates.xml or if you did modify it, maybe there's something wrong in it.

Let's say that your new template set is named /1 and then a file my.css

c) while you create a new site with this new template set, in the administration panel that asks you to select the template-set of your virtual site, you should see this template set: [b:3a80mbqq]Web Templates / Web Templates Extension / My Template Set[/b:3a80mbqq]

Once the site is created, go the homepage: in firebug, you should see that my.css is loaded as well as all the other inherited css files.

Regards,
Fabrice
