How to enable new modules in already deployed site - Jahia 6.6

by  dhernandez »  2012/05/22 15:15

Hi all,

I already have a deployed site, but for some reason I can't see some jahia 6.6 modules on this site, but I can see those modules in jahia demo web space site. I need to know how to enable these modules in my deployed site.

Cheers,

Dennis

    Hi,

you need to go in the Studio (from edit mode, there is button in the top toolbar)

    Once in the Studio

    - select the desired module from the drop down list (top-left column)

    - in the toolbar > deploy menu > select the target site.

    as simple as that.

    Hi Theklem,

I already tried that  but for some reason is not working. Although they are selected and deployed, they are not shown in edit mode.

Any idea about what is causing this issue?

    Jahia Version: Jahia 6.6.0.0 r40429

    Thanks.

Never encountered such an issue. Let's try to figure out what happens.

    A few questions :

    - Is it a 6.6 brand new instance of Jahia, or a migration from a 6.5 instance ?
    - Are you using the root account or another one ? if another one, which one ?

    - what is / are the module(s) you can see in the acme space demo that you don't see in your other site ?
    - when you say that you don't see those modules, you mean that they do not appear in the Selector (left column) of the Edit Mode, right ?

It is a complete new jahia installation.

Yes I'm using the root account.

For instance, I would like to have the news entry module in edit mode.

Yes. I don't see them in the selector (left column).

Sorry, my bad. Now I understand why you were talking about a dropdown.

I selected the modules by mistake in the left column instead of the dropdown.  Something I notice is that  I need to select "module" at the first dropdown and then select the module I want to deploy in the second dropdown. For some reason the left column makes me think that you actually can select them from there.

    Thanks a lot theklem!
