Deploying JSR286 compliant portlets

by  aalmero »  2011/06/07 18:33

Does anyone tried deploying JSR286 compliant portlets? I need to test the eventing(inter-portlet communication) feature of JSR286.

Thanks

Hello,

Jahia 6 is tested with the Portlet 286 TCK portlet, which is provided by the Apache Pluto project, which is the technology we embed.

Best regards,
Serge Huber.

That is what I expected, but the same set of portlets worked well in WPS61 and JetSpeed 2.2. BTW I'm only using the community edition of Jahia. Would there be any difference in the implementation between community and enterprise?

If the portlet works well in WPS 6.1 and Jetspeed 2.2 it should work in Jahia. The main difference in terms of portal between the community edition and the enterprise edition is the fact that the enterprise was tested in terms of scalability, performance, and as it was released a bit later, it contains bug fixes that were fixed after the release of the community edition.

For differences between the community and enterprise edition, please check out the following resource, which summarizes them well : http://www.jahia.com/jahia/Jahia/Home/p ... e_editions

As per actual differences in terms of the portal feature, there are only a few bug fixes between the two versions.

Best regards,
Serge Huber.

Seems this post is a little old, but I didn't find any succesful experience about JSR 286 portlet functionality correctly running on Jahia. I've been trying to deploy two portlets, one that publishes an event and another one that processes the event but I have had no success. Has anybody else been able to do this.

Hi,

Please precise your built number / Jahia release.

Have you downloaded 6.1 EE / Release 31127 or 6.0 CE / Release 25203 ?
