Compiling template set

by  helenv »  2014/06/09 11:20

My site uses the sample bootstrap template set. I have created a new template in sample bootstrap template set in studio.  I have not compiled it but it is available in edit mode when I create a new page.  Should I compile the template set? Why is the new template available if I have not compiled it? Should I be using the sample bootstrap template set for my site?

    Hello,

Yes, it's normal. Templates modifications are immediatly available in edit mode. It will require a module recompilation to be available in live mode though, as the compilation button triggers also the templates publication.

Also, some module modifications, like adding a new nodetype or view, are automatically taken into account without recompilation.

The sample bootstrap template is really an example. You could copy it to use as a base for your own templates set.

    Best regards,
    Quentin

    Hi,

how does one copy the sample bootstrap templates exactly, please?  I tried creating my own template set and copy/pasting the base template and the site-settings-base and their subtemplates, but this added a src folder inside the src of my template set.  Copying and pasting the sample-bootstrap-templates folder into my \tomcat\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\var\sources folder did not work either. Right-clicking on the module folder in the Studio gives you the option Copy but it is not clear where to do the Paste.

thanks in advance for your answer

    Marie

You should simply create your own module and copy the src folder of sample bootstrap templates in your module.

    Regards,

This doesn't work for me. Error message is: Einfügen fehlgeschlagen:
The following files could not have their reference pasted:
File src-1 could not be referenced in /modules/hl-martin-bootstrap-templates-02/1.0-SNAPSHOT/sources
