Chinese Site in Jahia

by  libramoody »  2013/04/23 06:00

Hi

We have a site in English and we want to translate the site in Chinese.

For the same, we have made a new property file for each of our modules (*_zh.properties).

When we are building and deploying our module and copying the war on the server, then the chinese characters are getting corrupted and hence some Junk characters are coming up on the site.

Also, we have taken care of encoding while making the chinese property file and the encoding that we have used is UTF-8.

Any help around this would be helpful

Thanks

    Hello,

could you, please, provide the pom.xml file of your module and perhaps the *_zh.properties, you are using in your module.

Please, check at which stage the files is getting corrupted:

    1) At build time (check the file in the generated module's WAR file

    2) At deployment time (check the "expanded" content of the module's WAR in the <jahia-web-app-dir>/modules/<your-module> folder)

    Kind regards

    Sergiy

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply

The issue is actually happening at the build time.

When i am building the module using maven, then the war which gets generated contains the corrupted chinese contents.

Can you provide me your mail id so that i can mail you the pom and chinese property file.

    Thanks

jsite getting appended in the Vanity URLs

    by  libramoody »  2013/04/25 08:39

We have a site in English and Chinese.   We have set the vanity URLs for both the sites.

In English the vanity URLs are working as expected however in Chinese, some string is getting appended itself after the URL.

    for example http://abc.com/zh/design.html?jsite=692329a8-c4d1-4b27-a1c3-c215b5d87f4e

Any idea why this jsite string is getting appended

    Thanks

    Gaurav

    Hello,

it seems like a bug with module build when converting resource bundle property files using native2ascii task.

Please, file a Bug ticket in our JIRA: https://jira.jahia.org/

and attach those two files, you've sent me (or better the whole source of your module).

    Thank you in advance!

    Sergiy

P.S. For the vanity URL issue the discussion will be in: http://www.jahia.com/cms/home/download/forum/general/jahia-in-english/jsite-getting-appended-in-the-va.html
