changing layout and page

by  erdem_ustun »  2011/06/07 18:42

??s it available to drag and drop the boxes, change layout, adding new boxes portlets to any page in Jahia ? I couldn't change the place of any box in a Jahia page. Do we have to use all the pages how they were. Can't we add any portlet or anything to any page. For example if we use acme sample. Can't we change or add anything to Activities or home or another page or change their layouts in edit mode. It would be very useful feature. Do we have to do all changes in jsp files and templates.

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    In fact the flexibility is a choice...

    Usually, webmasters want to facilitate the contributor role so they prefix the type of areas. Thanks to that contributors just have to write content on a specific zone and don't have to think about what type of content they need.

    But thanks to the box mechanism, you can provide a list of available types, and the contributor will be able to compose the page himself with a custom and dynamic ordering. In the ACME demo, I think that you could try it on some pages on the right panel.

    For the drag /1) -->

    Cheers,

    Charles
