Basic Jahia capability question

by  sso »  2013/11/14 14:32

Hello,

At present i am planing to develop simple proptype for a concept, but not sure how it can be best solved in jahia community edition.

Scenario:

Let's say there are 3 Shops A, B & C. I would like to DEFINE the model for shop data and other related information.

I was thinking to model in repository, Here first question is how can i do it?

I need SINGLE user for each shop, which can view and modify through cms only his shop limited information. For example

if Shop has attribute name, location, address, timing, logo & offer then he can modify only timing, logo & offer.

Does jahia support such ACL through GUI and API ?

How can i display information from other database (cassandra) for editing e.g  in template ?

Thanks
Sanjay

    Hello,

You can completly use the JCR to store  your shop datas. Simply define what is a shop in the your definitions file (definitions.cnd).

Jahia provides everything to handle ACL on content,

In any module you can create views that do ajax calls to get external content (like cassandra) and use them in your templates.

For your information, in next version of Jahia we will introduce a new way of integrating external content, the External Data Provider that let you see/edit/enhance any external content as Jahia content.

you can find more information on this here : http://www.jahia7.com/home/distributed-development/multi-sources-content-hub

    Regards,
