active directory hierarchy

by  erdem_ustun »  2011/06/07 18:41

Hi I integrated Jahia with Active Directory. I can get the users and groups from Active directory. But I can't see the hiererchical memberships in Jahia. For example a group is a member of another group in Active directory But in Jahia does not seen as memmber of the other group. Does Jahia support hiererchical structure ?

Thanks in advance

    Hello,

no, group nesting and automatic resolution is not supported on Jahia side.
You should take a look on how to resolve membership on the Active Directory side.

    Kind regards

    hello Sergiy;
sAMAccountName in active directory is social security number, can I change Screen name in jahia?
    forexample sAMAccountName=678956 givenName=erdem
I want to display givenName in jahia after authenticated from active directory.is it possible?

I did configure applicationcontext-services.xml and getting users and groups from active directory.
Display groups but want to display member of but I could not see?

    kind regards..

Note for previous message: Why I want to nested groups because ??f I give permission a group(name=xx) to pages or directory all groups under the group xx are the same rights. otherwise administrator of jahia do lots of work to give rights groups

    Hello,

what do you mean under /1? Is it a username (login) that is used when users log into Jahia?

    Kind regards
    Sergiy

Please, post here your LDAP configuration (from applicationcontext-services.xml).

    Hi,

I was not able to open your applicationcontext-services.xml file, it seems to be corrupted.

However the first step is to map the ldap properties to jahia properties in your applicationcontext-services.xml :

    /1

After that, you are free to retrieve in your jsp the firstname or lastname attribute from the user profile to display his name.

Is it what you want to do ?
