A newb tomcat question

by  siggismara »  2011/06/07 18:34

Hello all,

I have no experience with tomcat, but have been playing around with apache httpd for some time. The virtual site features of Jahia are very intriguing, but what is the best way to set up your system if you have e.g. mysite1.com and mysite2.com and would want them to map onto two different virtual sites in jahia?

The only thing I can come up with is putting apache httpd in front of the tomcat server and setup virtual sites for mysite1.com and mysite2.com there that would then direct their requests to the appropriate tomcat urls. Is there an easier way to do this with standalone tomcat?

cheers,
Siggi

Tomcat can actually do that all by itself, although most of our customers do use an Apache HTTPD front-end in production.

You can find more information here : http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc ... howto.html
