Jahia the Open Source Web Content Management (WCM) for high-end deployments

Unified Mashup Center

Today a successful end user experience often requires interaction with other micro-applications that are not directly managed by your front-end WCM. Portlets, Javascript mashups, OpenSocial gadgets, RSS feeds, web clipplets, and advertisement systems all require different sub-systems that might be hard to understand from an authoring point of view. Moreover, a webmaster may prefer centralized, unified management for all of these micro-applications, and may want to decide exactly who will be able to add which kind of micro-applications to what site. Jahia incorporates all of these underlying technologies under a single management interface. Content editors and managers can then deal with these micro-applications as if they were just another type of content item.

Unified Mashup Manager

  • Manage all your micro-applications (RSS feeds, widgets, gadgets or portlets) from one centralized interface.
  • Manage permissions, classification directories, categories and metadata on each instance of your micro-applications as if they were standard static content item.

Dynamic Mashup Builder Wizard

  • Create new instances of your generic micro-application using the built-in Mashup Builder Wizard. For example, deploy a generic "RSS NewsFeed Portlet." Jahia will automatically recognize the different user roles and properties needed by this portlet and will dynamically generate an adequate Wizard. Each instance of this portlet that is generated (e.g. a CNN news feed, a BBC news feed, etc.) will automatically populate the Jahia Mashup Manager and can be reused on several web pages or different virtual sites.
  • Precisely define who can build new instances and use the Mashup Builder Wizard, and which users can only reuse existing mashup instances. Such a feature limits the risk that unauthorized micro-applications being will be used to populate your web sites.
