Jahia includes a comprehensive document management solution strongly coupled to its Web Content Management solution. This server can simultaneously act as a local file manager or as a federated hub towards your other ECM (Enteprise Content Management) servers which can be transparently accessed from within the Jahia WCM itself. Jahia can be thought of as a virtual unified file system that lets you more easily reuse any of your corporate content assets regardless of where they are located. You can use them as needed by integrating them as key elements of your web pages.

Federated Asset Publishing
It is common that all of a company's content assets needed for developing its public or internal-facing web sites are located in several content repositories- for example, some may be stored in Microsoft® SharePoint, others on shared network drives, or an ECM server. Some of this information needs to be gathered to populate your web pages and provide the information your audience expects from you. Jahia is packaged with a powerful "United Content Hub" that provides dozens of available connectors to all the major Content Repositories. Once these connectors are installed, you can manage such files as if they were locally present on the Jahia platform.

File Consistency and Integrity Checks with WCM
- Option to automatically lock an image or document in use on a live published page, to avoid any errors
- Built-in consistency checks to warn editors before a directory is deleted or permissions on a document are modified, which could lead to inconsistencies on some web pages
- Automatic renames and updates of all modified documents used throughout various web pages even if the reference was hardcoded in an unstructured rich text.
- A file usage panel that indicates to editors and content managers whether and where a given binary document is used on the web site.
Built-in Document Selectors Throughout All WCM Features
- All the WCM user interfaces are already linked to the embedded document management server. Select a file or an image directly from within the web content area you are currently editing
- Upload a new file or new image, rename or move a document directly from your page. You do not need to switch to another back-end interface simply because you forgot to upload an image.
Personal File Spaces
- Every logged end-user can benefit from a personal file space, which is automatically created by the system.
- A public and private folder are also automatically created to facilitate permission management
